Cooked up a new look

Vernon Hills, IL — When Focus Products Kitchen Group realized that their Amco product line was getting buried in competitive brand clutter, they tapped TFI Envision Inc. Their existing product line utilized several different logos that defined the specific product category. The logos were very recessive on the package and did not provide a ‘brand block’ effect on shelf. The redesign strategy was based upon consolidating the full product line of kitchen utensils under one name – Amco Houseworks with a consistent graphic look to the logotype and packaging.

TFI Envision, Inc. created a bold and dynamic logotype whose personality did much to establish a more prominent position within the category. The standardization of the packaging logotype was a dramatic first step towards successfully recreating a premium housewares brand. The next step will be establishing the brand standards for the packaging to provide a consistent and easily recognizable product line on shelf (creating a ‘brand block’). TFI Envison’s core competency is just that: Delivering creative solutions at the core of the brand experience, by a brand strategy that reinforces and builds category positioning through maximum visibility.

Flying off the shelf

New York, NY — ‘Tis the season for going back to school, so Lee’s Art Shop selected TFI Envision to create a brochure to highlight the season specials and drive sales.

Even with computers in every class room, loose leaf paper is still a visual symbol of school days. Using that as the backdrop for the brochure, we developed a welcoming ‘back to school’ type of banner with an artfully arranged assortment of products surrounding the logo for an inviting front cover.

With easy to read item names and bold type to highlight the special values, this brochure makes it easy for the reader to view their vast selection of art supplies, papers, portfolio cases, and easels. TFI Envision is in the process now of developing their holiday brochure – yes, believe it or not, it is only 3 months away! We’ll keep you posted.

So be sure to stop by Lee’s Art Shop, conveniently located at 220 West 57th Street, NY, NY and enjoy their amazing selection of art and graphic supplies, gifts, framing, children’s educational and evelopmental toys, party supplies, and more.

Remember, Lee’s is “So much more than an art store - Four full floors of creative inspiration!*”.

Drop a Toy for Girl or Boy

Norwalk, CT— This year, TFI Envision, Inc. will be a Toy Donation Drop Center for the St. Luke’s LifeWorks 20th Annual Holiday Gift Collection. This important collection provides gifts to over 1,700 children affected by homelessness, poverty or HIV/AIDS and is distributed thru 30 non-profit agencies in the area. “Without donations from the community, most of these children won’t receive any gifts at all.” said Audrey Green, Director of the New Beginnings Program at LifeWorks’ Center for Children and their Families.

Of course, once they have all these wonderful toys, they need to be wrapped. (They request the gifts to be unwrapped is so that they can correctly identify the appropriate age and gender for each toy.) So, donations of wrapping supplies are welcome, including wrapping paper, scissors and tape.

If you are interested in volunteering to be a ‘wrapper’, call the St. Luke’s LifeWorks Holiday Gift Collection Hotline at 203-388-0103 to reserve a date (Dec 5 or 12th) and time slot. Space is limited. This is a wonderful opportunity to get your family or group of friends together to start off the holiday season on a positive note by helping others.

TFI Envision will also be a Refreshment Sponsor, providing the refreshments, lunch and snacks for the 500+ volunteers that participate in sorting and wrapping event.

You can drop off your unwrapped toy or wrapping supplies to our office at 111 Westport Avenue, Norwalk, CT anytime Mon - Fri, 8:30 - 5:30 from now until Dec 1st. Any questions, please call Elizabeth Ball, President / Creative Director of TFI Envision, Inc. at 203-845-0700 ext. 16 or email liz@tfienvision.com

A Hole in One

Yorktown Heights, NY — Guiding Eyes for the Blind, once again tapped TFI Envision for creating the invitation and marketing materials for their 33rd Annual Golf Event for 2010. This marks the 3rd year that TFI Envision will be bringing their talent to this event.

In 2006, TFI took on the task of developing a new logo for the event. Each year since, we provide a different color scheme for the logo and bring that across all the materials for the event.

The Guiding Eyes for the Blind Golf Classic is the most unique in the region, and here's why:

1. Dogs on the course! Guiding Eyes instructors and dogs greet players on the course.

2. The talent and courage of blind golfers! The event's first day is dedicated to the Corcoran Cup, the “Masters” of blind golf. The 16 top US Blind Golfers Association players compete on Day 1 for this coveted award - and on Day 2 they join the other recreational golfers for a hole or two - a humbling experience for the weekend hackers.

3. Two legendary courses! No other event in the region offers its players a choice of two legendary golf courses. Mount Kisco and Whippoorwill Country Clubs are both known for their courses’ challenging terrains and gracious hospitality.

4. For the fourth year, NY Giants quarterback Eli Manning is the host. He greets the golfers on the courses and joins them for dinner after the day’s competition.

Still in the planning stages, TFI Envision will be creating their advertising, invitation, brochures, and other materials with a consistent and memorable approach.

For more information about this event, please call Guiding Eyes Golf Central at 914-243-4340 or email ldeutsch@guidingeyes.org.

`There’s a NorEast comin'

Bridgeport, CT — TFI Envision, Inc. has been working with an exciting new private air charter company – NorEast Air LLC, to develop their branding, signage, promotional materials, website, and more.

To begin the process, we created a “visual board” with images of all aspects of flying, a “word board” of words that would be associated with NorEast Air (including freedom, flexibility, friendly, professional) and a “competition board” showing other private air charter and aviation business logos, ads and other materials. This provided the basis for developing a look that would be unique and specific to the experience of flying with NorEast Air.

The logo uses all the colors that are part of the experience of flying – the sun, sky, water and earth all intersecting with fluid lines of a stylized “N” for NorEast Air.

We have taken advantage of branding opportunities to tell the story of NorEast Air and its benefits, on the bottled water and mints available on board.

The website www.noreastair.com is scheduled to go live by October 2009. With private air charter service from metropolitan New York, Connecticut and New Jersey airports, NorEast Air will be meeting the needs of people that value their time.

NorEast Air, call 203-504-2353.

Travel without your Passport

Old Greenwich, CT — A photographic exhibition entitled “Global Vision” opens September 4, 2009 at The Gallery at Greenwich Tavern. The exhibition features a selection of photographs by Elizabeth P. Ball, which take the viewer from the architectural details of St. Petersburg, Russia to the Huli Wigman of Papua New Guinea and onto the diverse animals of the African plains.
Ball is President / Creative Director of TFI Envision, Inc., and also Director of the Pierce Ball Gallery, in Stamford, CT. She travels extensively throughout Europe, Africa, the Americas and the Pacific. Travel and photography are a blended passion for her. She rarely travels without 2 cameras – just in case one fails (ask her about the time one of her cameras jammed while a hippo was getting ready to ram the boat she was in).
Greenwich Tavern owners Moe Gad and Rafael Palomino agree that combining great food with beautiful artwork is a winning combination. With the assistance of Leslie Mueller, a local designer, artist and host of Cablevision’s award winning program “Art & Style”, the Gallery is a space set aside within Greenwich Tavern to showcase the artwork of local artists.
The exhibit will continue through the end of October 2009. So take a trip to Greenwich Tavern and enjoy going around the world without ever having to pack a bag or your passport!

Do-It-Yourself, and Save!

Danbury, CT—TFI Envision, Inc. was invited by FRAM® to design a year's
worth of money saving in-store promotions for the do-it-yourselfer
in the form of Shelf Talkers and Rebate Pads. Each of three specific promotions incorporate FRAM's eye catching orange corporate color and are high lighted with increased cost savings, die cut for extra ‘pop’. A Whole New World

New York, NY — Municipal Capital Strategies selected TFI Envision, Inc. to create the brand for their new business. They are the latest in a number of ex-wall streeters moving their expertise from the large investment banks to their own private firms. This company specializes in capital market strategies in the municipal bond market that the founders used to trade for a large investment bank and now are bringing to a number of smaller institutional investors that formerly didn’t have access to this expertise.
The icon was developed to depict the strategic, measured growth of investments. Combined with the complimentary sans serif type treatment, the logo has a timeless quality. We also will be working on the development of their website (www.municapstrat.com) and corporate collateral for this highly specialized market.

Dove® Targets Bonus Pack

Englewood Cliffs, NJ — TFI Envision, Inc. has consistently worked with the Visual Branding Team of Unilever for over 30 years in developing packaging and point of purchase materials for their incredible array of consumer products. Among the recently released projects was a series of promotional “shrinkbanded” packages for Dove Body Wash.
The challenge was to have the existing Dove packaging be clearly visible on shelf while promoting the bonus 1.86 oz Body Wash that is shrinkbanded to the back of the pack.
TFI Envision utilized the clear shrinkfilm material to expose the front of the main product while a bright circular graphic in the variant colors was created to highlight the bonus product. When you turn the product around, you can see the tip of the bonus body wash product thru another clear area in the shrinkband. This visible area assures consumers that this product is a generous bonus size because they can actually see the bonus product.
Available exclusively at your local Target store.

Light and Bright

Yorktown Heights, NY — For the second year in a row, Guiding Eyes for the Blind selected TFI Envision, Inc. to design its Annual Report for 2009, entitled “voices.” This year’s request was to give the piece a lighter, more upbeat feel to reflect all that has been achieved during the year at Guiding Eyes for the Blind. The use of large vibrant photos and a bright, primary color palette conveys the positive, forward thinking philosophy that is Guiding Eyes. The pages are interspersed with in-depth, heartwarming biographies of students and trainers, drawing the reader in and bringing the wonderful world of Guiding Eyes for the Blind to life. By printing the book on a satin finish, recycled paper, it gives the tactile feel and “green” appeal that makes it an essential part of their fundraising collateral. “We gave TFI Envision a tremendous challenge this year – to prepare a publication that portrays Guiding Eyes for the Blind the way in which its donors, volunteers and staff see it: as a vibrant, optimistic, progressive place. This goal flies in the face of conventional nonprofit wisdom, which plays on the difficult economic climate. We wanted our constituents to know that, in spite of the economy, Guiding Eyes will find a way to provide its wonderful dogs and life-changing training to the blind, and children with autism, at no cost to them. As soon as our donors see the cover, they get it. The artistic vision of TFI Envision really carries the day in our Annual Report. Three years ago our Annual Report was a simple Word document. Last year, and this, our Annual Report is the focal point of our branding and communications programs. Just like last year, TFI Envision really nailed it.” Lisa Deutsch, Vice President for Marketing and Development Guiding Eyes for the Blind

Mark of Excellence

Glastonbury, CT — The American Marketing Association, the premier marketing resource for leadership, skill-based training, education and networking announced the winners of their 2009 Mark of Excellence Awards. The Lee's Art Shop consumer marketing campaign, created by TFI Envision, Inc. was one of the 7 selected winners selected from hundreds of entries.
Lee’s Art Shop had grown over its 40+ year history, selling everything from art supplies, to furniture, gift items, and more! The problem was that people didn’t know that they were anything other than an art shop. TFI Envision, Inc. developed a new branding strategy to bring them up to date – including a new logo, 2 taglines, a new shopping bag, an advertising campaign and a seasonal brochure.
The ads and shopping bags carry the theme “Can you find the item we don’t carry?” and then showed an assortment of items to encourage people to figure out which they didn’t have (and what they have!).

Forecast is positively Sun

Wilton, CT — A brand or corporate identity is not just a logo. It is the symbolic embodiment of all that a company represents. It needs to be easily recognized, instantly appealing and must reflect the qualities and values it represents.
Based on a 34+ year history of developing unique, award winning branding, TFI Envision, Inc. was selected to develop the corporate identity standards for a new company – The Sun Products Corporation.
Vincent Masotta, who leads the packaging and creative resources team at Sun Products, presented TFI with the logo concept that embodied the fresh, clean, energized brands in the Sun stable of products. The TFI team worked with Masotta to refine the logo concept and develop the standards for both corporate and packaging usages.
The end result, shown at right, supports the promise of freshness and approachability.
The flexible system allows the logo itself to be used in a variety of ways depending upon the usage. In all cases, the essence of the identity is maintained.
The Sun Products Corporation was created from a merger of two leading laundry care and personal care products businesses. Some of their brands for the North American market include All®, Wisk®, Snuggle® and Sun®.

Fulfilling the Promise

West Bloomfield, MI — Packaging - the ”silent salesman” sitting on the retail shelf, waiting to catch the potential consumer’s eye. It has to grab attention; connect with the consumer in both an informational and emotional way; and move that consumer to buy the product. That’s a lot of work in the span of about 0.5 to 1.5 seconds*.

When ColorGoRound LLC was ready to launch their product on a national level, they wanted to work with a firm that understood this. They selected TFI Envision to redesign the branding and packaging for “fingerPrints”, a child’s finger painting kit complete with frame. The new branding for “fingerPrints” communicates both the fun of creating and the ready-to-hang end product.

The new packaging shows clearly what comes in the box, what you do and what your end result is. Set against a clean white background to stand out against the riot of color typical for the retail space occupies, the packaging fully represents the product and its promise.

This product was introduced in Fall 2008. The retail sales results so far are rising steadfastly.

You can find “fingerPrints” at Lee’s Art Shop in NYC, Long Island Children's Museum, Exposures catalog, The Art Gallery of Ontario, Detroit Institute of Arts, and negotiations are underway for some big box retailers! Perfect gift for birthdays, Mother’s Day, Father’s Day, Grandparents Day or just a day to have some fun with a child.
